Danbury Garden Club – About Us

Danbury Garden Club was founded May 6, 1925 by 25 women and will be celebrating its 100th year 2025-2026.  The mission of the Danbury Garden Club is to:

  • Promote education in horticulture, conservation, native plantings and floral design.
  • Educate youths by sponsoring horticulture, gardening and environmental programs along with flower design education and practical application following the National Garden Club guidelines.
  • Provide scholarships to students for advanced education in fields related to agriculture, horticulture, environmental science (ecology), conservation and landscape design and architecture.
  • Increase the knowledge of the artistic use of plant
  • Support and assist civic beautification.
  • Aid in the protection and conservation of birds, wildlife and other natural resources.
  • Promote the goals of National Garden Clubs, Inc. and the Federated Garden Club of CT (FGCCT).

We are one of the largest garden clubs in the State of Connecticut.  We are a charter member of the Federated Garden Clubs.  We are also a member of the New England Garden Clubs and the National Garden Clubs, Inc.
